The Harvester Road project is a proposed mixed use building located in Sunshine, a suburb west of Melbourne. This AU$80 million nine storey development includes three buildings which will house shops, offices, car parking and over 150 apartments. The majority of apartments will be marketed to persons aged over 55, and the remaining will be available for private sale. The site has access to existing retail, recreational and government facilities and public transport. SMEC Urban (a subsidiary of SMEC) lodged a planning permit on behalf of LPD Corporation for the construction. The planning process involved consultation with the local council, Brimbank City Council. SMEC Urban’s services included: planning, three-dimensional analysis of interfaces between the built form, the road and the pedestrian links.
