Vince Crosdale

Vince joined SMEC Vietnam in 1995. He is a civil engineer with over 20 years’ experience in road design and construction management with specialist skills in manual and computerised Asset Management Systems. He is SMEC's Chief Technical Principal Pavements, responsible for technical oversight of complex pavement projects. Vince holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) and a Masters of Technology (Pavements).
Dominik Vidjak

Dominik joined SMEC in 2010. He has over 23 years’ experience in road and railway infrastructure projects including detailed design, tender preparation, construction supervision and commissioning. Dominik is a Senior Project Manager in SMEC’s South Asia and Middle East Division, currently responsible for a major railway upgrade in Bangladesh. He holds a Masters in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Zagreb, Croatia.
Dean Birkett

Dean joined SMEC in 2010 and is based in the Melbourne office. Dean oversees corporate tax compliance across the 40 international jurisdictions in which SMEC operates. Dean became a Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in 2004 and a Fellow in 2009. Prior to joining SMEC, Dean spent over 10 years in public practice in the United Kingdom, resolving accounting and taxation issues for a range of clients.
Wahida Hayel

Wahida joined SMEC in 2006 as an administration assistant and in the Tanzania office. She is responsible for all office processes including: organising travel and visas; monitoring service delivery; and verifying all forms and documents. Wahida holds a Diploma of Business Management from the Financial Training Centre, Tanzania and is studying a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Open University of Tanzania.

Lalit joined SMEC in 1994 and (after an 18 month break) was appointed General Manager Corporate Services for SMEC India in 2011. Lalit has more than 17 years experience in Information Technology (IT) including network, software and data management and system planning. Lalit holds a Bachelor of Science (Electronics) from Delhi University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Systems Management from the National Institute of IT, India.
Jared Cooke

Jared joined SMEC in 2000. He has over 10 years experience in the planning and design of large highway and urban arterial road projects in Queensland. He has worked on motorway upgrade projects in excess of A$1.8 billion, most recently the Gateway Upgrade Project. Jared manages the highways group in SMEC’s Brisbane office and specialises in the design management of complex road upgrade projects located in constrained brown field corridors.

Leonie joined SMEC in 2010 as a Graduate Engineer and was appointed Business Development Engineer in 2011. Moghes Mekonen

Moghes joined SMEC in 2010 and is based in Tanzania. He has extensive international experience in the dams and hydropower industry, from feasibility studies and contract management to design review and construction supervision. Moghes is currently undertaking construction supervision and contract management for Lotsane Dam in Botswana. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Construction Science) from the University of Oklahoma, USA.

Amjad joined SMEC in 1995. He has over 15 years’ experience in finance, specialising in budgeting, forecasting, project planning, taxation and internal auditing. He worked on the roll-out of SMEC’s financial systems in Pakistan. Amjad holds a Master of Business Administration (Finance and Accounting), a Master of Commerce (Accounting), a Master of Science (Economics) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting.
Colin Clarke

Colin joined SMEC in 2004 as a Highways Engineer. He is a civil engineer and project manager who specialises in detailed design and construction management for large infrastructure projects. Based in SMEC’s Sydney office, Colin is responsible for the management, co-ordination and delivery of large transport projects such as the Gerringong Upgrade project. Ong has over 10 years’ experience in civil engineering, specialising in the design and management of roads, highways and interchanges. He also has experience in geotechnical works for foundations and micro-tunnelling. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the National University of Malaysia.

Belayneh joined SMEC in 2001 and is based in Ethiopia. He has over 25 years of experience in highway and road planning, design, construction and maintenance. As SMEC’s Ethiopian Country Manager, Belayneh is responsible for co-ordinating multi-disciplinary teams and overseeing all stages of project work. Belayneh holds a Masters in Engineering (Civil) and a Masters in Science (Highway Engineering).

With 20 years accounting and finance experience, Girish is responsible for regulatory compliance, financial and project reporting and assisting project managers with project planning. Megan Strid

Megan joined SMEC in 2011 and is based in Manila, Philippines. She is responsible for the improvement of financial processes, budgeting, forecasting and auditing. Prior to joining SMEC, Megan worked for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Megan holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Business and an IT Degree and is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA).
Alex Taub

Alex joined SMEC in 2009 and is a Business Manager for SMEC’s Managing Director International. Having received an Excellence Scholarship, Alex completed an MBA at the Australian Graduate School of Management focussing on strategy and international business. Alex has 10 years’ experience in construction and engineering project and commercial management in Australia, Asia and Europe.
Severin Materu

Severin joined SMEC in 2007 as a Senior Highway Engineer. He was appointed head of the Highways and Transportation team in 2008 before becoming the Functional Group Manager, Africa in 2009. Severin has extensive experience in the transport sector and is responsible for project management, business development and contract management. Severin holds a Masters of Engineering (Science)  and a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil).
Dr Peter Gehrke

Peter joined SMEC in 2007. He has 30 years experience in water and environmental research and management, particularly water cycle and catchment management for freshwater and coastal environments. He recently led a climate change assessment across the Pacific and was invited to speak about the project at the International Symposium on Ecohydraulics and the Pacific Heads of Fisheries meeting.
Jasmine Westerman

Jasmine joined SMEC in 2001 and is an environmental land use planner and Manager of the SMEC Environment and Planning group in Queensland, Australia. She has over 20 years experience in strategic and statutory planning, specialising in the application of ecologically sustainable development in policy, organisations and projects. Jasmine holds a Bachelor of Town Planning (Hons).
Rajat Sethi

Rajat joined SMEC in 2009 in India. He has 18 years experience in infrastructure, transport, power, water, tourism, urban infrastructure and civil aviation projects. Rajat specialises in design and implementation of PPP projects with focus on financial and economic analysis, legal due-diligence and project monitoring. He holds a Bachelor of Law and a Post Graduate Degree in Business Administration.

Tadei joined SMEC in 2008 and is based in the Tanzania office. Tadei has over 15 years’ experience in the water and sanitation industry, within  the public and private sectors. Tadei’s areas of expertise include: water and sanitation sector policy, planning, design, cost estimation, construction management and supervision, operation and maintenance and institutional capacity building.
Alexi Bhanja

Alexi joined SMEC in 2010 and has over 20 years’ experience in solid waste management, environmental assessment and the design and environmental validation of concept master plans. Based in Hong Kong, Alexi has worked throughout Asia, the Middle East and Europe. He holds a Masters in Environmental Pollution Control and a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science).

Rani joined SMEC in 1989 and is the Office Manager for SMEC's Bangladesh office. Rani is responsible for all day-to-day administration tasks including communication, employee scheduling and records, arrangements for visiting expatriate employees and a variety of business development activities. Jeff has over ten years experience in strategic planning for government bodies and holds a Masters in Environmental Science.

Robert was the recipient of SMEC’s 2011 Male Young Professional of the Year Award.

Gabriella joined SMEC in 2010 and is based in SMEC's Canberra office. Gabriella has undertaken project management for the Transport Sector Support Program (Papua New Guinea) and General Education Quality Improvement Program (Ethiopia). Michael joined SMEC in 2007 and has over 25 years experience in the surveying and spatial information industry working in a range of projects in the land development, power and water industries. He has managed major infrastructure projects including the deviation of Hyland Highway and the roll-out of the Powertel fibre optic cable from Albury to Melbourne.
Suzie Millar

Suzie joined SMEC in 2011 as New Zealand's Business Development Manager, when SMEC opened its first office in Auckland. Formerly Marketing Manager for AECOM’s global energy business, Suzie has extensive marketing and business development experience in the international energy sector. Suzie holds a Master of Philosophy in Business Studies from Massey University.
Nathalyn Jose

Nathalyn is a registered Civil Engineer with a Masters of Construction Management and Masters of Business Administration. She joined SMEC in March 2009 as the Country Manager Philippines. Nathalyn has extensive experience in civil engineering and management and is responsible for the growth and day-to-day management of SMEC in the Philippines.

John joined SMEC in 2010 as the Australian General Manager Rail and has over 20 years experience in management of rail infrastructure projects including new rail lines, amplifications, grade separations, stabling facilities and stations. John worked on the South West Rail Link, North West Rail Link, Surat Basin Rail and the Northern Sydney Freight Corridor in Australia and brings extensive international experience.
Adam Kyriakou

Adam joined SMEC in 2007 as the Corporate Information Coordinator. Luke Drowley

Luke joined SMEC in 2006 and is a Senior Tunnel Engineer in Sydney. He has worked on a wide range of projects including road, rail, sewer and cable tunnels as well as desalination plants and hydroelectric schemes. Luke has fulfilled detailed design, construction supervision, proof engineer, independent verifier and  team leader roles.

Zahid joined SMEC in 2004 and is the Regional Manager Pacific, based in SMEC’s Papua New Guinea office. Business and project management, public relations and business development activities are a major part of his work. Zahid has managed a wide range of projects including Transport, Infrastructure and Development sector projects.
Lisa Bennett

Lisa joined SMEC in 2005 and is a Civil/Design Engineer in Melbourne, Australia. She has several years experience in dam engineering, including design review, concept and detailed design for upgrade works for water supply infrastructure projects. Lisa specialises in concrete structures and embankment design, and has been involved in tender preparation.
Daniel Kabado

Daniel joined SMEC in 2005 and is a Senior Civil Engineer for the Transport Group in Tanzania. Daniel is responsible for business development; preparing Expression of Interest documents and proposals for projects in Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
Nia Barry

Nia joined SMEC in 1998 and is the Finance Manager for the Pacific Region. She is based in SMEC's Papua New Guinea office and is responsible for a variety of administration, corporate and finance activities. Samiul joined SMEC in 2005 and is the Director for SMEC Bangladesh. He has experience managing large infrastructure projects from different functional sectors. Leonie joined SMEC in 2010 as a Graduate Engineer and was appointed Business Development Engineer in 2011. Leonie is responsible for identifying potential business opportunities in Papua New Guinea, managing and coordinating ongoing projects and providing technical assistance in the field of civil engineering. Moghes Mekonen

Moghes joined SMEC in 2010 and is based in Tanzania. He has extensive international experience in the dams and hydropower industry, from feasibility studies and contract management to design review and construction supervision. Moghes is currently undertaking construction supervision and contract management for Lotsane Dam in Botswana. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Construction Science) from the University of Oklahoma, USA.
Amjad Rasheed

Amjad joined SMEC in 1995. He has over 15 years’ experience in finance, specialising in budgeting, forecasting, project planning, taxation and internal auditing. He worked on the roll-out of SMEC’s financial systems in Pakistan. Amjad holds a Master of Business Administration (Finance and Accounting), a Master of Commerce (Accounting), a Master of Science (Economics) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting.
Colin Clarke

Colin joined SMEC in 2004 as a Highways Engineer. He is a civil engineer and project manager who specialises in detailed design and construction management for large infrastructure projects. Based in SMEC’s Sydney office, Colin is responsible for the management, co-ordination and delivery of large transport projects such as the Gerringong Upgrade project. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from University College Dublin, Ireland.
Ong Yee Seng

Ong joined SMEC in 2001 and is the Head of the Highways and Transportation Group in Malaysia. Ong has over 10 years’ experience in civil engineering, specialising in the design and management of roads, highways and interchanges. He also has experience in geotechnical works for foundations and micro-tunnelling. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the National University of Malaysia.
Belayneh Weldesellasie

Belayneh joined SMEC in 2001 and is based in Ethiopia. He has over 25 years of experience in highway and road planning, design, construction and maintenance. As SMEC’s Ethiopian Country Manager, Belayneh is responsible for co-ordinating multi-disciplinary teams and overseeing all stages of project work. Belayneh holds a Masters in Engineering (Civil) and a Masters in Science (Highway Engineering).
Girish Joshi

Girish Joined SMEC in 2002 and is based in India. With 20 years accounting and finance experience, Girish is responsible for regulatory compliance, financial and project reporting and assisting project managers with project planning. Girish has extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, auditing, finalisation of annual accounts and tax returns. He holds a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Commerce.

Megan joined SMEC in 2011 and is based in Manila, Philippines. She is responsible for the improvement of financial processes, budgeting, forecasting and auditing. Prior to joining SMEC, Megan worked for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Megan holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Business and an IT Degree and is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA).
Alex Taub

Alex joined SMEC in 2009 and is a Business Manager for SMEC’s Managing Director International. Having received an Excellence Scholarship, Alex completed an MBA at the Australian Graduate School of Management focussing on strategy and international business. Alex has 10 years’ experience in construction and engineering project and commercial management in Australia, Asia and Europe.
Severin Materu

Severin joined SMEC in 2007 as a Senior Highway Engineer. He was appointed head of the Highways and Transportation team in 2008 before becoming the Functional Group Manager, Africa in 2009. Severin has extensive experience in the transport sector and is responsible for project management, business development and contract management. Severin holds a Masters of Engineering (Science)  and a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil).
Dr Peter Gehrke

Peter joined SMEC in 2007. He has 30 years experience in water and environmental research and management, particularly water cycle and catchment management for freshwater and coastal environments. He recently led a climate change assessment across the Pacific and was invited to speak about the project at the International Symposium on Ecohydraulics and the Pacific Heads of Fisheries meeting.

Jasmine joined SMEC in 2001 and is an environmental land use planner and Manager of the SMEC Environment and Planning group in Queensland, Australia. Rajat Sethi

Tadei joined SMEC in 2008 and is based in the Tanzania office. Tadei has over 15 years’ experience in the water and sanitation industry, within  the public and private sectors. Tadei’s areas of expertise include: water and sanitation sector policy, planning, design, cost estimation, construction management and supervision, operation and maintenance and institutional capacity building.

Alexi joined SMEC in 2010 and has over 20 years’ experience in solid waste management, environmental assessment and the design and environmental validation of concept master plans. Rani joined SMEC in 1989 and is the Office Manager for SMEC's Bangladesh office. Rani is responsible for all day-to-day administration tasks including communication, employee scheduling and records, arrangements for visiting expatriate employees and a variety of business development activities. Robert joined SMEC in 2003 and is a Highway Engineer based in Sydney, Australia. Robert has over 10 years experience in concept development, detailed design and site design of large highway duplication and deviation projects including Erskine Park Link Road, Tarcutta Bypass and Gerringong Upgrade. Robert was the recipient of SMEC’s 2011 Male Young Professional of the Year Award.
Gabriella Tauni

Gabriella joined SMEC in 2010 and is based in SMEC's Canberra office. Gabriella has undertaken project management for the Transport Sector Support Program (Papua New Guinea) and General Education Quality Improvement Program (Ethiopia). Michael joined SMEC in 2007 and has over 25 years experience in the surveying and spatial information industry working in a range of projects in the land development, power and water industries. He has managed major infrastructure projects including the deviation of Hyland Highway and the roll-out of the Powertel fibre optic cable from Albury to Melbourne.

Suzie joined SMEC in 2011 as New Zealand's Business Development Manager, when SMEC opened its first office in Auckland. Formerly Marketing Manager for AECOM’s global energy business, Suzie has extensive marketing and business development experience in the international energy sector. Suzie holds a Master of Philosophy in Business Studies from Massey University.

Luke Drowley

Luke joined SMEC in 2006 and is a Senior Tunnel Engineer in Sydney. He has worked on a wide range of projects including road, rail, sewer and cable tunnels as well as desalination plants and hydroelectric schemes. Luke has fulfilled detailed design, construction supervision, proof engineer, independent verifier and  team leader roles.

Lisa Bennett

Lisa joined SMEC in 2005 and is a Civil/Design Engineer in Melbourne, Australia. She has several years experience in dam engineering, including design review, concept and detailed design for upgrade works for water supply infrastructure projects. Lisa specialises in concrete structures and embankment design, and has been involved in tender preparation.

Ricky is based in Hong Kong and is responsible for managing tunnel design projects. Ricky is the Tunnel and Cavern Discipline Leader for the detailed design of Admiralty Station, one of the most complex underground station caverns in Hong Kong.
