SMEC has been awarded a contract extension for delivery of the Australia Indonesia Partnership for Economic Governance (AIPEG). SMEC assumed management of AIPEG (on behalf of the Australian Government) from Norton Rose in July 2014.
AIPEG was founded in the 1990s in response to the Asian Financial Crisis. The Partnership seeks to support the Government of Indonesia’s economic management agencies in the promotion of economic growth and stability.
Key focus areas include: market competitiveness; financial stability and development; revenue mobilisation; spending quality; efficient and equitable use of public resources; and the strengthening of government-to-government partnerships.
SMEC will act as Managing Contractor for a period of 19 months, concluding in June 2017. The successful ongoing implementation of AIPEG will see SMEC well placed to continue management through the next phase.
