SMEC Supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals
SMEC CEO Andy Goodwin signs the CEO Statement of Support for the United Nations Global Compact Sustainable Development Goals.
Now, as a signatory, SMEC joins a diverse group of 33 companies with footprints across Australia and the globe. These industry leaders agree that business has a critical contribution to make towards achievement of the SDGs, which lay out an ambitious path to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and protect our planet over the next 15 years.
SMEC has integrated the SDGs into our business and annual reporting. In 2013, SMEC set a number of objectives, which align with the SGDs, to help deliver on the commitments the Company has made in each of its three Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) categories: People; Community; and Sustainability and Environment. SMEC reports on progress against these objectives in the Company’s annual Sustainability Report.
