SMEC has been engaged by the Water Resources Unit at the Ministry of Energy and Public Utilities, to provide Consultancy Engineering Services for the expansion of La Nicolière Reservoir.
Constructed in 1929, La Nicolière Reservoir is a very important storage water facility, located at north of River du Rempart, approximately 5 km north east of Port Louis, and is one of the main sources of water supply to the northern districts of Mauritius.
The objective of this project is to increase the capacity of the reservoir. Commencing in August 2017, the project duration is 15 months, with downstream detailed design services being
envisaged.
