SMEC offers an impressive range of water and wastewater utility management services that support economically sustainable development. SMEC draws on the experience and expertise of Brisbane Water (BW), one of the largest fully integrated water utilities in Australia. BW is a division of Brisbane City Council (BCC), and is responsible for providing infrastructure, water and wastewater services to one of Australia’s most dynamic and rapidly growing urban environments. SMEC offers municipalities, water utilities and private companies expertise in all aspects of water supply, wastewater, sanitation and sewerage.
SMEC provides a variety of retailing services for water utilities including customised billing, rating and revenue collection systems for residential and industrial developments as well as rating structures associated with demand management programs.
SMEC’s underground water asset management capabilities include leakage detection and reduction, design and development of computerised maintenance systems, sewer rehabilitation programs (including relining and cleaning) and inspections of pipelines (including CCTV of sewer and water pipelines).
SMEC provides specialised services for the strategic development of master plans for both water supply and wastewater management projects as well as long-term plans for water recycling. SMEC is also experienced in the provision of advice to help clients identify, evaluate and prioritise initiatives, actions and investments.
