  • Providing bills of quantity, technical specifications and tender documents.

Project Overview

This project forms part of the Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) to interconnect the electricity grids of NBI countries to improve electricity availability, reliability and quality.

The objective of the project is to provide adequate transmission capacity for the evacuation of power from the 250 MW Bujagali Hydropower station to load centres, distribution companies and large customers in Kampala and the south-western and west regions of Uganda.

This project also forms part of the East African Community (EAC) regional interconnections, enabling the Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) to benefit from power exchange within the EAC and reduce technical losses while improving power supply quality, security, reliability and availability.
