SMEC has operated in Ghana since 1976, and established a permanent office in Accra in 1998.
SMEC’s first project in Ghana was a feasibility study and detailed design services for the Bui Hydroelectric Power Project. Since then, SMEC’s project experience in Ghana includes: technical assistance for the improvement of road surface standards for the Ghana Highways Authority; design, tender review and overall project management for the Aboadze-Volta Transmission Line project; and project management services for the Transport and Agriculture Infrastructure Project, as part of targeted infrastructure improvement projects aimed at reducing rural poverty, implemented by the Millennium Development Authority.
SMEC aligns local knowledge with global expertise to address the needs of its diverse client base, and has delivered thousands of projects in more than 100 countries, including Ghana.
We draw on the skills and experience from across the Surbana Jurong Group to offer enhanced capabilities and reach, delivering a complete value chain of services across Urban Development, Infrastructure and Management Services.
