SMEC has operated in Samoa since 1972. SMEC’s first project in Samoa was the AusAID funded Road Maintenance Training Project.
Since then, SMEC has worked on a range of projects throughout Samoa, including: a technical assistance program to the Samoan Customs Department; technical assistance on the Afulilo Environmental Enhancement Project; and design and construction of a quarantine operations centre.
More recently, SMEC, in association with Meredith Sam Manuel Ltd, has been awarded a contract by the Land Transport Authority of Samoa to provide surveys, investigations, design and documentation for the 20 km Central Cross Island Road Upgrade - Enhanced Road Access Project on Upolu Island. SMEC has also been engaged by the Land Transportation Authority of Samoa to undertake a vulnerability assessment of the Samoa Road Network, as part of the Enhancing Climate Resilience of the West Coast Road Project (Component 2).
SMEC aligns local knowledge with global expertise to address the needs of its diverse client base, and has delivered thousands of projects in more than 100 countries, including Samoa.
We draw on the skills and experience from across the Surbana Jurong Group to offer enhanced capabilities and reach, delivering a complete value chain of services across Urban Development, Infrastructure and Management Services.
