Enriching lives through the SMEC Foundation
The SMEC Foundation is a core part of SMEC’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program, and helps fulfil our commitment to community development and sustainable poverty reduction. We are pleased to share our latest report which covers the 1 January – 31 December 2017 period.
The guiding philosophy of the SMEC Foundation has always been that small amounts, spent wisely, can produce far-reaching social and economic impacts. Since its inception in 2001, communities in over 30 countries have received grant support for development projects in the areas of health, education, environment, community development and emergency relief.
Throughout the year, SMEC continued its commitment to support people in need through the SMEC Foundation and Divisional CSR Committees, providing funds to make a positive impact to those in need. SMEC’s CSR Committees are integral in ensuring that projects are appropriately selected and delivered in accordance with SMEC’s business integrity policies. We have continued to strengthen our processes around compliance, to ensure that the SMEC Foundation and the agencies that we partner with, adhere to the highest standards of integrity.
