
Habibie Razak appointed Executive Director of The Institution of Engineers Indonesia
Congratulations to Habibie Razak, Country Director and Regional Manager for SMEC in Indonesia, on his recent appointment as Executive Director of The Institution of Engineers Indonesia (Persatuan Insinyur Indonesia or PII) for 2021 – 2024.
Congratulations to Habibie Razak, Country Director and Regional Manager for SMEC in Indonesia, on his recent appointment as Executive Director of The Institution of Engineers Indonesia (Persatuan Insinyur Indonesia or PII) for 2021 – 2024.
Helping to improve the quality and quantity of engineers in Indonesia, PII plays a highly strategic role in national development. It is Indonesia’s second oldest professional organisation and most prestigious engineering body, with members comprising 23 engineering colleges and universities, and more than 15,000 professional engineers, including 1,000 registered with ASEAN Engineering, and 50 with Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
“My appointment as Executive Director will support the President and Secretary General in managing PII’s operations including membership, certification and networking events across Indonesia, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific,” said Habibie.
Habibie was appointed together with Danis Sumadilaga and Ilham Akbar Habibie, the institution’s President and Vice President respectively. Danis was formerly Director General at the Ministry Public Works and initiated the Metropolitan Sanitation Management Investment Project, where SMEC is lead firm of the Project Implementation Support Consultant. Ilham Akbar is the eldest son of late President Republic of Indonesia, Baharuddin Jusuf Habibie.
SMEC joins global network for impact assessment
SMEC is now a corporate member of the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA), the leading global network on best practices in the use of impact assessment for informed decision-making regarding policies, programs, plans and projects.
