SMEC recently completed the geotechnical inspection, testing and quality assurance for the construction of Cell 1 and the leachate pond at Cosgrove 3 Landfill in Shepparton, Australia.
SMEC worked alongside Greater Shepparton City Council to support successful delivery of the project, which will service the regional community.
The Cosgrove 3 site will be developed as a regional landfill hub to cater for the needs of Greater Shepparton and other Victorian municipalities for the next 30-40 years. The site is being constructed with the latest technology and will be a leading example of best practice in landfill construction and operations.
Our client commented: ‘Despite significant challenges, SMEC has always been proactive and professional in supporting this project to a success. It was a pleasure to deal with your team which provides solutions not just highlighting the issues. The extensive knowledge of the staff both on and off the field hugely helped us in completing this challenging project on time. I have no hesitation in recommending SMEC for similar projects.’
