Our passion for and expertise in all things transport was out in full force at the 2019 Australian Institute of Traffic Planning and Management (AITPM) National Traffic and Transport Conference held in Adelaide, Australia, this year.
Seven of our specialists presented technical papers across the planning, modelling and advisory streams, covering topics from safety auditing and autonomous vehicles to transport sustainability and Australian pubic transport trends.
We are pleased to see the industry recognising SMEC’s leading position in traffic and transport, with James Parrott, Manager - Transport Planning, Logistics & Analytics, acting as the 2019 National Conference Convener.
Alex Kelly, Senior Engineer Transport, will convene the 2020 AITPM National Traffic and Transport Conference to be held in Brisbane, Australia, next year.
And last, but certainly not least, congratulations to Michael Oliver, Graduate Engineer, who was awarded the 2019 AITPM Young Professional Award (South Australia).
Michael commented, “My ambition to become a professional engineer in the sector of transportation is one that is motivated by having the opportunity to be part of a process that focuses on planning, designing, constructing and maintaining transport systems (i.e. roads, highways, bridges etc) that will provide strategic and efficient movements of people.”
