SMEC has won a contract to provide the conceptual design for an approach road to the Gote Hteik Bridge in Myanmar’s northern Shan State.
The 20 km road is located along the Myanmar National Highway No. 3, between Lashio and Mandalay, which is a section of the China-Myanmar Highway.
The approach road will provide an important trade link between Mandalay and Lashio and contribute to greater road safety in the mountainous region. It will also help create a key transport node between northern and southern Myanmar.
