Our client, the Ethiopian Petroleum Supply Enterprise (EPSE), is a public Enterprise responsible for securing a strategic national oil reserve as well as importing and supplying refined petroleum products to the country.
In connection with its operations, EPSE is building a new white oil products storage terminal at Dukem, Ethiopia with 240000m3 capacity. It will be used to receive, store and distribute refined petroleum products, comprising facilities such as product storage tanks, tank truck and rail wagon receipt facilities, and tank truck loading gantry with allied piping and automation.
Our RoleIn partnership with parent company Surbana Jurong, SMEC has been engaged by EPSE to provide engineering design for the construction and commissioning of the new oil storage terminal.
Scope of Work
The terminal will be the country’s largest in terms of capacity (240000m3) and the first to store and handle aviation fuel. The work is divided into two phases as follows:
- Basic Engineering/Concept Design
- Topographic Survey & Soil Investigations
- Front End Engineering Design (FEED)
- Preparation of Tender Documents & Cost Estimate.
