Project Overview

The Ministry of Power has launched the Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) to address gaps in the electricity sub-transmission and distribution networks in various states in India.

The scheme includes strengthening of the sub-transmission and distribution sector (33kV & 11kV and associated substations) and improving metering (smart metering and advance metering for converting to a semi SMART Grid).

Our Role

SMEC has been engaged to evaluate and verify the IPDS works in five states: West Bengal, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir.

Our teams are monitoring, inspecting and evaluating the works implemented under IPDS, as well as conducting post-implementation evaluation of the Scheme.
