SMEC Oil & Gas (a SMEC subsidiary) is providing Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) with design, engineering and construction supervision services, on a call-out basis, for natural gas and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) processing facilities in Pakistan.
Scope of works include:
- Studies to improve existing systems
- Developing designs for improved systems
- Basic and detailed design, engineering and associated activities.
Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) is engaged in oil and gas exploration and production in Pakistan, and operates natural gas and LPG processing facilities at six producing fields across the country.
PPL produces approximately 312 billion cubic feet of natural gas liquid, 3.8 million barrels of crude oil, 50,000 barrels of condensate and 27,340 tonnes of LPG annually; and contributes over 20 percent of Pakistan’s total natural gas supplies.
SMEC Oil & Gas is undertaking modification and development works at PPL’s current and future operating fields.
SMEC Oil & Gas’ services are provided on a call-out basis to home offices, field sites and PPL’s head office in Karachi, as required. Individual call-out projects may involve any combination of conceptual engineering, detailed design and engineering, and follow-up services. The first project completed under this contract is the provision of design review and construction supervision services at the Gambat Gas Field.
