The capital city of Zambia, Lusaka, has a population of approximately two million people. Currently 70% of residents have access to treated water supply.

SMEC, as Programme Manager, is overseeing a number of sub-projects, for the management and implementation of the Lusaka Water Supply, Sanitation, and Drainage Project. SMEC is responsible for implementing systems and structures that facilitate clear reporting lines, high levels of accountability, and transparency.

 

SMEC’s services included:

  • General program management
  • Financial reporting
  • Technical assistance and advice
  • Support in ensuring compliance with environmental, health and safety standards.
