SMEC appointed as Independent Verifier for Mandurah Estuary Bridge Duplication Project.

SMEC Australia has been appointed as the Independent Verifier for Mandurah Estuary Bridge Duplication Project in Western Australia.

 

Mandurah Estuary Bridge Duplication will provide significant improvements to congestion and safety in the Mandurah and Dawesville communities with a second, two-lane bridge constructed on the south side of the current Mandurah Estuary Bridge and construction of a new four-meter-wide shared path.

 

SMEC are undertaking the Independent Verification role for the major design components including the road bridge, road and share path, geotechnical, waterways, drainage, electrical, noise assessments, and miscellaneous structural elements such as retaining walls, noise walls, and the fishing platform. Additionally, SMEC will be providing expert independent verification for the incremental launching stages of temporary works.

Mandurah Estuary Bridge Duplication will improve safety and connectivity for our communities long into the future. With construction works commencing we are delighted to be part of the Georgiou team to deliver this significant infrastructure project for Western Australia.

This appointment builds upon SMEC’s provision of similar Independent Verification services for the Causeway Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridges Project, and the Halls Creek to Kununurra Bridges (Kimberley Bridges) Project and supporting the Western Australian government in providing reliable and safe infrastructure for its communities.
