SMEC is delighted to announce its recent major contract win to provide owner’s engineering services for the Wawa 500MW Pumped Storage Project in the Philippines.

As we celebrate India’s 77th Independence Day, SMEC is delighted to announce our appointment to the Dams Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP) as Engineering & Management Consultant for Phase II & III.

The Super Trishuli Hydroelectric Project is located on the Trishuli River in the Chitwan, Gorkha & Dhading districts in the Central Development Region of Nepal. The project is located approximately 100 km west of Kathmandu on Prithvi highway. Once complete, this project will assist to alleviate acute power shortages experience by the people of Nepal.

SMEC recently met with the Lake Volta Steering Committee to present the draft Regional Development Plan which included concept options for the proposed masterplan development. The Steering Committee comprised a cross-section of the Volta River Authority Development Committee and selected Heads of the various government ministries.

SMEC has been contracted by Electricidade De Timor-Leste (EDTL) for the role of Project Supervision Consultants for the Power Distribution Modernisation Project in Timor-Leste. Supported by a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the project aims to assist EDTL in modernising the country’s power distribution system and strengthening institutional capacity.

SMEC has been appointed to deliver project management services for the construction of a new six-story office complex for the Ghana Immigration Service, located in Accra.

SMEC has been engaged by the Ministry of Water & Environment of Uganda to undertake design review and construction supervision for critical water projects across Namasale, Koboko, Kaliro-Namungalwe and Rukungiri.

The Australian and NSW Governments are investing in the widening and upgrade of the section of Maitland Road between Newcastle Inner City Bypass and Hexham Bridge known as ‘Hexham Straight’.

SMEC has been engaged by DT Global, through the Australian Government-funded Economic and Social Infrastructure Program (ESIP), to undertake a feasibility study for the rehabilitation of the Pauanda Hydropower Project in Papua New Guinea.

In late 2022 Parklife Metro, comprising Plenary, Webuild, RATP Development and Siemens were awarded the contract for the Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport – Stations, Systems, Trains, Operations and Maintenance (SSTOM) project.
