Convened by market research house, PMR.africa, the Excellence Awards are industry-driven, based on in-depth market research from within the construction industry and are a reflection of how clients and industry insiders rate companies. SMEC South Africa Regional Manager, Victor de Abreu, and Strategic Business Development Manager, Zulfa Taibi, accepted the PMR.africa Golden Arrow Award in both the Civil and Structural Consulting Engineers categories on behalf of the company.
This is the fifth year in which SMEC South Africa has been recognised by PMR.africa, having previously received awards in the Civil, Structural, and Combined Civil and Structural Categories in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2021.

In March, members from SMEC South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal office teamed up with the PEACE (Personality Exploration and Career Exploration) Programme, a career guidance initiative aimed at guiding students through their high school journey. The programme, provided at no cost, aims to educate students on various career paths and equip them to make informed educational or vocational decisions.
