The ABAaNA study (abaana meaning ‘young child’ in a local African dialect) is the largest and most comprehensive research study ever undertaken to examine the outcomes of brain injuries and disorders amongst newborns in Africa.

The SMEC Foundation donated A$5,000 to the Cerebral Palsy Alliance to continue its research of infants aged 12 to 18 months at the Mulago Hospital in Kampala, Uganda.
