The SMEC Foundation donated AU$3,500 to the Textile Worker Hearing Loss Prevention Project in Bangladesh.

The objective of the project is to reduce the incidence of hearing loss amongst textile workers employed by small businesses in Narsingdi, Bangladesh. The project is a collaboration between the Noarlunga Safe Community Program, South Australia, and the Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh. This donation will be used to: develop health and safety workshops for over 400 Bangladeshi textile industry workers, provide hearing protection equipment and implement practical training for health and safety coordinators.
