Surbana Jurong, an SJ company, has been appointed to lead the transformation of Huji Industrial Park in China into an international Zero-Carbon industrial park, setting a benchmark for green development.

Strategic Objectives and the Role of Dayukou Company

 

Industrial parks, which account for 15% to 20% of global CO2 emissions, are critical targets for emissions reductions. Decarbonising these parks also creates opportunities for innovation and new technology in renewable energy, energy storage, and low-carbon transportation. Furthermore, technologies such as carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) are becoming essential for enhancing the competitiveness of businesses within these parks.

 

Huji Industrial Park

 

Surbana Jurong’s strategic research and recommendations will focus on low-carbon transformation and industrial upgrades throughout the park. This covers the entire spectrum, from raw mineral resources to the transformation of upstream, midstream, and downstream industrial chains, as well as carbon neutrality planning.

 

Dayukou Company, the central enterprise in the park, will play a key role, implementing projects focused on developing new zero-carbon factories, and promoting resource utilisation.

 

The primary objectives of the project include:

  • Energy Transition: Shifting towards renewable energy sources and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
