SMEC, in association with Mansion Consulting Ltd, is providing design and construction supervision services on the Asphaltic Concrete Overlay of the Abakaliki – Mbok (Ogoja Junction) & Ikom – Mfum Roads along the Bamenda-Enugu Road linking Cameroon and Nigeria. Part of the Trans African Lagos – Mombasa economic corridor, the road is key to economic progress and regional integration.
The Bamenda-Enugu Road is a strategic corridor as it passes through major states in Nigeria, connecting Cameroon and Nigeria. The road provides an easy and quick means of transporting goods, especially agricultural products. It is important project to improve the essential transport logistics route, increasing trade between countries and within the Nigeria’s regions.
Objectives of the project are to:
- Improve a strategic transport corridor, aiding the transportation of goods especially agricultural products, resulting in increasing trade between countries and within the Nigeria’s regions.
